【高一年级英语作文:My（Spring及Festival）】The Spring Festival is the most important holiday in China. It usually comes in January or February. This year, I celebrated it with my family and had a lot of fun.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, my family cleaned our house to welcome the new year. We also put up red couplets on the door. Red is the color of happiness and good luck. I helped my mother cook some traditional dishes like dumplings and fish. Eating these foods means we will have more money and good things in the new year.
On the first day of the new year, I wore new clothes and visited my grandparents. They gave me red envelopes with money inside. I felt very happy. We also watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It was full of funny shows, songs, and dances.
In the evening, we set off fireworks and firecrackers. The bright lights and loud sounds made me excited. I enjoyed the whole festival because it was a time for family and happiness.
I think the Spring Festival is not only a time to celebrate but also a time to remember our traditions. I hope I can keep this tradition and enjoy it with my family every year.
